Man charged with murder following assault in Uxbridge

A man has been charged with murder following a fatal assault in Uxbridge.

Igor Polikarski, 33 (07.08.1992) of High Street, Cowley, was charged with murder on Sunday, 28 September.

He remains in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on the afternoon of Monday, 29 September.

The victim has been named as 62-year-old Roy Mcintosh from Uxbridge.

Detective Inspector Richard Kempshall, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the public and local community for their assistance and we are not actively seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation.

“The victim’s family continue to receive support and updates from specialist officers.”

On Friday, 26 September at 12:27hrs police were called to reports of a fight between two men at High Street, Cowley.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 62-year-old man for his injuries. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after police arrived at the scene and taken into custody.

Residents can expect to see a continued police presence at the scene of the crime over the next few days.
