Man charged with murder following death of woman in Old Kent Road

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman on Friday, 21 August.

Mohammed Sherif, 54 (28.08.71), of Rowcross Street, Southwark, was charged on Tuesday, 25 August, with one count of murder. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 25 August.

Police were called at 14:50hrs on Friday, 21 August following a report that a woman had fallen from height in Rowcross Street, SE1.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and a 31-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

She has since been named as Kerry Ann Goodbrand. Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing in the area, said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

“Officers are working diligently to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death and members of the community will see an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are conducted locally.
