Man charged with murder in Westminster

A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in Abbey Orchard Street, SW1 on Friday, 27 March.

Suliaman Tajzai, 18 (01.01.08) of Wesley Road, Leeds was charged with murder on Tuesday, 31 March. He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 April.

Police were called at 22:17hrs on Friday, 27 March, to reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived within minutes and found a man with stab wounds. They administered first aid before the arrival of the London Ambulance Service, who took him to hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

He has since been named as Farmanullah Sherzad. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
