Man charged with sexual assault following police investigation

A man has been charged with sexual assault following a police investigation.

Chaim Halpern, 65 (22.6.58) of Bridge Lane, Golders Green NW11 was charged on Thursday, 21 March with two counts of sexual assault on a woman on 1 June 2022.

He has been bailed to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 19 April 2024.

The police investigation began after the Met was made aware of an interview broadcast in December 2022.

During this an unnamed woman, who appeared anonymously, alleged she had been the victim of non-recent sexual offences said to have taken place in London.

On Thursday, 9 March 2023 a man in his 60s was arrested in connection with the matter. A file was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service in December 2023.

The man has now been charged as above.

Investigating officers continue to support the victim.
