Man in custody on suspicion of south London murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Sanchini Thompson in Lewisham following a proactive Met Police operation.
The man, who stated his age as 33, was arrested in Scotland on the evening of Tuesday, 21 October and will be transferred to custody in London today.
Sanchini , 27, was fatally stabbed on Wednesday, 15 October. Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Rushey Green, Lewisham at 03:06hrs. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated Sanchini for stab wounds. Despite their best efforts, he sadly later died in hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford, leading the investigation, said: “Our dedicated team of detectives have worked tirelessly to locate and arrest this suspect. The work doesn’t stop here. We will continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Sanchini as we strive to secure justice for him and his loved ones.”
