Murder investigation launched after woman dies in Fulham

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman died in Fulham.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to a property in Tyrawley Road, SW6 at around 01:10hrs on Thursday, 30 April after reports of that a woman had been found with head injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, a woman in her 40s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A 45-year-old man, believed to be known to the woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken into police custody, where he remains.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder investigation and the community can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area while their enquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said:

“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died.

“We have launched a murder investigation and my detectives will be working round-the-clock to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.

“I would ask that anyone who has information that might be relevant to our enquiries contacts the police.”
