Murder investigation launched following stabbing in Enfield

A murder investigation is under way following a stabbing in Enfield.

Police were called at about 00:30hrs on Tuesday, 7 May to reports of a man stabbed at an address on Millicent Grove, N13.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man, who is aged in his late 50s, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

A 16-year-old boy was also treated for stab injuries; his condition is not thought to be serious.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody at a north London police station.

A crime remains in place and enquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command leads the investigation and said:

“I understand the shock that an incident like this will cause the local community and I want to thank them for the patience while we have carried out our work at the scene.

“All of those involved were known to each other, an arrest has been made and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“Residents will continue to see both specialist and local officers in and around the location in the coming days; if you have any concerns or information that you think could assist then please speak to them, contact your local policing team or call 101.”
