Murder investigation launched in Kensington

Detectives investigating the murder of an elderly man in Kensington are appealing for information.

On Sunday, 17 March at 15:06hrs police were called to a disturbance at a property on Longridge Road.

Officers attended the address where they found the 78-year-old victim. Officers conducted CPR until the arrival of London Ambulance Service, but sadly, despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. We await formal identification.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken into custody where he remains.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our deepest condolences are offered to the family and all those who knew the victim.

"While our investigation remains ongoing, we are not seeking anyone else at this time."
