Officer cleared of assault following trial

An officer has been acquitted of assault following a trial.

PC Bilal Naveed, from the North East Area Command, appeared at Isleworth Crown Court where he was found not guilty on Friday, 26 January of actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

This follows an incident on 1 April where a man received injuries in Church Avenue, Southall.

Now that criminal proceedings have concluded, misconduct matters will be considered. PC Naveed remains suspended from duty.
