Police appeal over assault at World Darts Championship
Police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak following an assault outside the Alexandra Palace, which left the victim severely injured.
On Saturday, 13 December, 2025, a man, aged in his 20s, attended the World Darts Championship. Around 16:30hrs, he left the venue, where he encountered a group of men dressed as lobsters.
The victim and the group had an argument, and were separated by site security.
Shortly after, the victim was walking along the venue’s concourse when he ran into the group again. One of the men then punched him, knocking him unconscious.
The victim attended hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening but serious significant, and subsequently contacted police. He is still suffering with significant injuries.
Detective Constable Lizzie Coster, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim in this case, and we hope the best for his recovery.
“This assault occurred outside at a major sporting event, and the suspect was wearing a distinctive costume.
“We are releasing a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that it will jog the memory of attendees, or anyone else who was in the area at the time.”
