A policing operation will take place this evening covering a protest organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC).

Conditions have been placed on the protest to minimise the disruption to the public in the Whitehall area.

Chief Superintendent Clair Haynes said: "This protest was called at short notice, but we have engaged with the organisers to ensure we strike the balance between minimising the disruption to the public, businesses and community groups with the right to peacefully protest."

Details of conditions to be imposed:

Any person participating in the Hands Off Gaza: Emergency Protest taking place at 18:00hrs on Wednesday, 11 September, opposite Downing Street must;

i) remain within the area shaded in red on attached map
ii) disperse by 20:00hrs.
