Three men charged by officers investigating Coldharbour Lane shooting

Three men have been arrested and charged by Met officers investigating a shooting incident in Brixton.

Detectives from Trident, part of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, continue to investigate after police were called to reports of a fight and shots fired in Coldharbour Lane, SW9 at around 05:00hrs on Sunday, 14 January.

Officers attended and found a woman suffering gunshot injuries. She was taken to hospital by ambulance. Three men self-presented at hospital, one with gunshot injuries, one who had been stabbed and one assaulted. All were discharged from hospital.

On Monday, 26 February, Shane Brown, 20 (01.08.03) of New Park Road, SW2 appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody – we await details of his next court appearance.

Previously, Gerald Atkins, 36 (16.08.87) of Greyhound Terrace, SW16 appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 17 January charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon and violent disorder.

Conrad Bair, 29 (11.09.94) of Haslemere Avenue, Merton CR4 appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 20 January charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and violent disorder.

Both Atkins and Bair were remanded in custody to next appear at Kingston Crown Court on 25 November.
