Tottenham murder investigation making good progress

Detectives continue to investigate the murder of Okechukwu Iweha in Haringey.

Police were called at 05:51hrs on Sunday, 7 April to Northumberland Park N17, after a man was found unresponsive.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. On arrival they found 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha suffering stab injuries. CPR was administered but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Okechukwu’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem held on 10 April at Haringey Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound to chest

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Specialist Crime Command, is leading the investigation. He said: “Our investigation is making good progress and we are building an increasingly clear picture of what happened.

“However, I continue to urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to please come forward and speak with us.”

On Wednesday, 10 April, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been released without further action.
