Two arrested as police investigate fatal collision in Dagenham

Detectives are renewing appeals for information following a fatal collision in Dagenham.

Police were called at 08:26hrs on Friday, 26 January to reports of a 63-year-old woman who had suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Leys Avenue.

Officers attended and the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her Next of kin have been informed and continue to be supported by family liaison officers.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation. They have established that the collision involved two vehicles.

Two men, aged 42 and 47, have since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
