Two charged with murder of Abdul Jalloh in Tower Hamlets

Two men have been charged with the murder of Abdul Jalloh in Tower Hamlets as detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Shomiah McKenzie, 18, of Lewisham and Cody Godfrey, 18, of Isle of Dogs were charged on Friday, 9 August with murder.

They were both also charged with possession of Class C with intent to supply. McKenzie was also further charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Saturday, 10 August.

Abdul Jalloh, 23, was fatally stabbed on the afternoon of Monday, 5 August at New Union Close, E14.

His family were notified and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A third male, a 16-year-old boy [A] who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender is currently released under investigation.
