UPDATE: Man charged in Harrow murder investigation

Detectives have charged a 19-year-old man with the murder of Robert Weston in Harrow.

Jaden Sheriff, 19 (22.01.05) of Forston Street, N1 was arrested on Tuesday, 27 February on suspicion of murder. He was subsequently charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in the early hours of Thursday, 29 February.

Sheriff appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 29 February and was remanded in custody until his next hearing on Monday, 4 March at the Old Bailey.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after police were called at approximately 14:05hrs on Monday, 26 February to Hamilton Crescent with reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed.

Officers, medics from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and attempted to save the man’s life. Very sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, Robert Weston’s family were informed and they will continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

As is routine in cases where there has been prior police contact, a mandatory referral will be made to the IOPC by the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards.
