Activists charged over damage at The Ritz and the Tower of London

Nine activists from the campaign group Take Back Power have been charged and will appear in court over the next two weeks.

The following people have been charged with criminal damage following an incident at The Ritz in Piccadilly on 3 December 2025 where manure was poured on the floor.

  • Ellen Redwood-Brown, 23 (26.05.02) of Balmoral Road, Bristol.
  • Tom Barber, 66 (26.02.60) of St Andrews Road, Nottingham.
  • Toby Ellwood, 21 (26.12.04) of Newport Gardens, Leeds.
  • Tjalle Rumley, 26 (27.04.99) of Hereford Road, Acton.

Redwood-Brown and Barber will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 April.

Ellwood and Rumley will appear at the same court on Wednesday, 29 April.

A further four people have been charged with criminal damage following an incident at the Tower of London on 6 December 2025 where crumble and custard was thrown at the crown jewels.

  • Fatima Ali, 19 (04.08.06) of Rhodeswell Road, Tower Hamlets.
  • Miriam Cranch, 22 (21.02.04) of Trelawn Avenue, Leeds.
  • Mack Preston, 22 (02.09.03) of Westferry Circus, Tower Hamlets.
  • Matthew Cooper, 50 (07.08.75) of Oriel Gardens, Bath.

They will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 April.

David Kilroy, 66 (20.08.59) of Hartley Park Gardens, Plymouth has been charged with theft following an alleged incident of organised shoplifting at Sainsbury’s in Lewisham on 14 March 2026.

He will appear at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 29 April.
