Appeal following fatal collision in Bromley

Detectives are appealing for information following a fatal collision in West Wickham, Bromley.

On Thursday, 13 March police were called to West Wickham High Street at 00:42hrs following reports a man was suffering from a cardiac arrest after being involved in a collision.

Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a man aged in his 50s who had been run over.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man died at the scene. His family has been informed and they are currently being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, stopped at the scene. He was then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and for driving under the influence.

He currently remains in police custody at a south London police station.

Road closures remain in place while the investigation progresses.
