Appeal following fatal collision in Limehouse
Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Limehouse.
Police were called at around 03:30hrs on Sunday, 5 April, following reports of a collision involving two vehicles at the junction between Commercial Road and East India Dock in Limehouse.
Officers attended the scene quickly alongside the London Ambulance Service, where three people were located with serious injuries.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the passenger of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are aware and continue to receive support from specialist officers.
Two men, one in his 20s and another in his 40s have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in hospital where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.
Sergeant John Dale, from the Met's Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we are appealing to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it - particularly if they have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
