Appeal for information after collision in Croydon
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Croydon which left a pedestrian with a serious head injury.
Police were called shortly after 21:00hrs on Monday, 5 January to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Brighton Road near to the junction of St Augustines Avenue, Croydon.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service. A 41-year-old man was treated at the scene and subsequently taken to hospital with head injuries where he remains.
The driver of the car, who stopped at the scene, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed.
Detective Sergeant Rob Groombridge, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are in the process of collecting dash cam footage, CCTV and any other information that will help us with our enquiries.
“I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident but has not yet spoken to police to contact us as soon as possible.”
