Appeal for information following collision on Mungo Park Road, Rainham
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a collision which left three officers injured.
On Friday, 13 February at approximately 16:40hrs, officers on patrol in a police vehicle had been pursuing a vehicle, a grey Vauxhall Astra, after it failed to stop and began driving erratically.
The vehicle collided with other vehicles during the pursuit, before colliding with the police car on Mungo Park Road, Rainham.
More officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service. Two male officers, attached to the Roads and Transport Policing Command, and one female officer, attached to North Area Command Unit, involved in the collision were assessed at the scene by paramedics.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The driver did not stop at the scene. The Vauxhall Astra was found abandoned in the area a short time later. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Acting Detective Sergeant Michael Carroll, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation is continuing and we are now appealing for witnesses and those with any relevant information to come forward and help us establish the circumstances of what happened.
“We are particularly interested in any dashcam or local premises’ CCTV footage of the incident.”
