Appeal for information following fatal collision in Tower Hamlets
Police were called at 12:45hrs on Wednesday, 14 January to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist in Commercial Road, E1.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 23-year-old cyclist with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he sadly later died on Monday, 19 January.
His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
No arrests have been made, and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Kirsty Troy who is leading the investigation said:
“This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the young man’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have dash‑cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward as soon as possible.”
