Appeal for witness to fatal collision in Harrow

Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Harrow are releasing an image of a man they believe may have witnessed the incident.

At around 12:59hrs on 19 December 2025, a road traffic collision occurred on Rayners Lane, Pinner, involving a pedestrian and a car.

The 79-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he sadly died a few days later. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Officers are now seeking to speak to the man pictured as a potential witness. He was not involved in the collision.

Detective Constable Anna Znajkiewicz, leading the investigation, said:
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends who are still coming to terms with his loss.

“We are continuing our enquiries to establish exactly what happened and we have spoken to a number of people who were in the area at the time.

“However, examination of CCTV has identified a possible witness who was walking outside Buckingham Preparatory School at the time of the collision, and we believe he may have seen what happened.

“We are releasing his image in the hope that he will come forward. If anyone recognises him, we would also ask you contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0207 960 8044 or by calling 101, quoting CAD 3513/19DEC25. You can also provide information anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The driver of the car involved has been interviewed under caution and remains under investigation.
