Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Enfield
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Enfield.
Police were called at 22:56hrs on Sunday, 4 October to reports of a collision in Elsinge Road, Enfield.
Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance.
The collision involved a car and an e-bike. Sadly, the rider of the e-bike, a boy aged 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink. He remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Simon Ager, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: “Our thoughts remain with the boy’s family and loved ones as they come to terms with this tragic loss.
“We are working at pace to establish the full circumstances around the collision, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Any piece of information you have could be crucial in our investigation.
“I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or may have captured CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to contact police as soon as possible.”
