Appeal to identify two men following a robbery in Holloway
Metropolitan Police Service detectives have released CCTV footage of two men they wish to speak to following a serious assault involving a firearm in Holloway.
On Monday, 14 July, at approximately 11.35hrs, a 33-year-old man was with a friend in the B&Q car park in Holloway Road, N7 after leaving the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park.
While sat in his car, the victim was approached by two men who then allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim by hitting him in the head with a firearm and demanding his jewellery, before stealing £200 in cash and a pair of sunglasses.
The London Ambulance Service treated the victim at the scene with serious head injuries and he was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as neither life-changing nor life-threatening.
The first man is seen in the footage on a distinctive yellow electric bike, was described as Black approximately 6ft with a slim build, and thought to be aged in his 30s. He was dressed in a grey and black tracksuit, black trainers and a black baseball cap.
The second man, who detectives believe carried out the assault, was described as Black, approximately 6ft with an average build, and thought to also be in his 30s. He was dressed all in black with a hood up and with a face covering.
The investigation team are looking to hear from the two men and anyone who believes they saw - or know - what happened.
Detective Inspector Julian Bates, who is leading the investigation for the Met, said: "On Monday, 14 July, a man was viciously attacked in Holloway. It is extremely important that we speak to those in the images, so we are able to determine exactly what happened - and to track down a possible firearm.
“What should have been a carefree and enjoyable day was instead ruined by a vicious robbery involving a firearm.
"We believe that many people may have been in the area at the time of the attack either attending Wireless or passing through the area and may have witnessed the assault. We urge anyone with any information at all to get in touch."
