Further appeal for witnesses following fatal Westminster collision

Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Westminster are renewing their appeal for witnesses and information as enquiries continue.

At around 04:30hrs on Sunday, 19 April, officers were called to Argyll Street following reports that a car had been involved in a collision with pedestrians.

Police attended and 32-year-old Klaudia Zakrzewska was found unconscious at the scene. She was taken to hospital, where she sadly died on Saturday, 25 April.

A woman has been charged in connection with the investigation and criminal proceedings remain active.

While detectives have already received a significant amount of information from members of the public, they believe there are still a number of people with potentially important information who have yet to come forward.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in Argyll Street between 04:00hrs and 05:00hrs on Sunday, 19 April and has not yet spoken to police. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded any part of it on a mobile phone.

As part of their enquiries, detectives would also like to speak to anyone who may have attended an event at Caso Jako club in Holborn on the night of Saturday 4 April 2026.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Klaudia's family as they continue to come to terms with their loss.

"We have received a significant amount of information from the public since our investigation began, and I would like to thank everyone who has come forward so far. However, we still believe there are people who may have information that could assist our enquiries and who have not yet spoken to us. You may not think what you saw or heard is important, but even the smallest detail could help us build a fuller picture of the circumstances surrounding this investigation. If you think you may have information that could assist us, please get in touch with police or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

"I would also remind people that proceedings against the woman charged in connection with this case remain active. It is vital that people do not speculate about the case or share information or commentary online that could prejudice those proceedings. We would ask everyone to respect the judicial process and allow the case to progress through the courts."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 3374/19APR.

Information can also be submitted via the Major Incident Public Portal at this link.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
