Man charged following death of woman in Tottenham

A man has been charged with murder and manslaughter as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a woman in Tottenham last year.

On Monday, 13 January, police were called to Reynardson Road, N17 following concern for welfare of a woman inside an address.

Officers forced entry to the property and found a woman who had sadly died.

The woman was identified as 74-year-old Pepita Sarikecili, who was also known as Pepita Garcia.

Police launched an investigation and believe that Pepita had died the previous month.

A postmortem revealed her cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Dominic Whitton, 41 (22.04.1984) of Reynardson Road, N17 was charged on 22 January with preventing a lawful burial in connection with the investigation and remanded into custody.

On Monday, 6 October, Whitton attended Wood Green Crown Court where he was further charged with murder and manslaughter in connection with Pepita’s death.

He entered a not guilty plea to all charges and will next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 12 December.
