Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Battersea

A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Battersea.

Police were called at 18:12hrs on Monday, 2 March to reports that a man had been stabbed during an altercation between a group of men on Thessaly Road, Battersea.

Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. A 25-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased.

The victim has been named as Tai Folkes. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

On Monday, 9 March, officers from the Met Police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of murder at a property in the Perry Bar area of Birmingham.

Asher Edwards, 46 (31.12.79), of Hemans Street, Lambeth, was charged with murder on Tuesday, 10 March. He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court later this morning, Wednesday, 11 March.
