Man charged with murder after shooting in north west London
A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 18-year-old from Hillingdon.
Adem Altindal, 32 (30.11.1992) of Wood Green, Haringey was charged with murder on Thursday, 25 September, having been arrested the previous day. He is set to appear at Haringey Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 26 September.
A second man, aged 39, was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a firearm on Thursday, 25 September. He remains in police custody.
Police were called at 05:27hrs on Sunday, 21 September to Atlantic Crescent, Wembley to reports of a shooting outside a bar.
Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot injury. He was taken to hospital and sadly died on Thursday, 25 September.
He has been named as Tyrece Balcha from Hillingdon. His next-of-kin are being supported by officers.
In a statement, his family said: “We are devastated that our amazing son, brother, and grandchild who was kind, loving, funny, and hardworking has been senselessly taken from us.
“We are grieving for his life that has been cut short but through his selfless gift as a donor, his spirit will live on. He will be deeply missed.”
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Tyrece at this very difficult time. They continue to be supported by specialist officers, and we ask you to respect their privacy.
"My team continue to work at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death.”
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in Wembley, added: “We recognise the concern and alarm this incident has caused within the community – particularly as it happened at a busy event.
“We'd like to reassure the public that their safety is of the utmost importance. We have increased patrols in the area, and you will see a continued police presence over the next few days.

Two other men were charged with attempted murder on Wednesday, 24 September, having been arrested on Tuesday, 23 September.
Rafael Reveane Rodriguez, 39 (01.07.1986) of Middleton Road, Morden appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 25 September. Dennis Gambrah, 32 (02.11.1992) of Dressington Avenue, Lewisham appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
They were both remanded in custody and are set to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 23 October.
Seven more people have been arrested in connection with the investigation:
A woman in her 20s was arrested on Thursday, 25 September on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a firearm. She remains in police custody.
A woman in her 20s was arrested on Tuesday, 23 September on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released with no further action.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of the same offence on Wednesday, 24 September. He has been released on bail.
A further four men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested on Tuesday, 23 September on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
