Man charged with murder following stabbing in Maida Vale

A man has been charged with murder after Met detectives launched an investigation into a fatal stabbing in Maida Vale.

Leon Douglas, 45 (08.12.1980) of Watford Way, Hendon was arrested on Tuesday, 23 December on suspicion of murder. He was charged with the same offence on Wednesday, 24 December.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 27 December.

Police were called at 21:42hrs on Friday, 20 December to reports of a stabbing in Tollgate Gardens, Oxford Road, Kilburn.

Officers attended the address alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a 40-year-old man at the scene for stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he sadly died.

The victim's next of kin continue to be supported by specialist officers.
