Man charged with murder in Lewisham
A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man in Lewisham last year.
Romar McDermott, 22 (24.05.03) of Mitcham Lane, Wandsworth, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 24 March, charged with the murder of Myles Meyjes.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on Thursday, 9 April.
A second man, Jamal Morgan-Salih, 32 (14.02.94) of West Court Lane, Gravesend appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 24 January also charged with murder. He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 9 April.
The charges follow the death of 46-year-old Myles Meyjes on 20 February 2025. Myles had been admitted to hospital eight days earlier on 12 February 2025, after he reported being the victim of an assault during an aggravated burglary at his home in SE12 several days earlier.
The Met launched a murder investigation in December after reviewing the findings of the post-mortem examination.
