Man charged with murder of woman in Tottenham

A man has been charged with the murder of 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins in Tottenham in August.

Simon Levy, 40, (14.08.1985), of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, was charged on Sunday, 7 September. He will appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court on Monday, 8 September.

On Sunday, 24 August at around 07:30hrs, Sheryl was found unresponsive in High Road, Tottenham. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and a police investigation was launched.

Levy was arrested on Thursday, 4 September.

While in police custody he was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm and intentional strangulation relating to another victim. The victim, a woman aged 35, is currently receiving support from specialist officers. The arrest related to an incident that occurred in High Road, Tottenham on was reported on Saturday, 25 January.

Levy was charged with all these offences, as well as the murder of Sheryl.
