Met officer charged with sharing messages about sexually abusing children

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with two offences after he allegedly shared messages about the sexual abuse of children.

PC Duncan Bouette attached to the North East Command unit, was arrested by officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime Unit on Tuesday, 7 October.

On Wednesday, 8 October, PC Bouette was charged with two counts under the Obscene Publications Act.

It is alleged that on Monday, 18 November 2024 PC Bouette sent a series of messages that related to the sexual abuse of children.

It is also alleged that between Thursday, 2 and Friday, 3 October 2025, PC Bouette sent messages via a secure messaging application that relate to extreme, violent sexual practices.

The officer was suspended from duty while in police custody and was remanded to court following the charge.

PC Bouette will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 October in relation to the above charges.

As is routine in such circumstances, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
