Met officer dismissed after being issued restraining order

A Met officer has been dismissed from the force without notice following an accelerated misconduct hearing.

PC Dawid Lewicki, attached to South West command unit, attended a hearing on Friday, 28 August, where an allegation of gross misconduct was found proven.

On Friday, 12 June Westminster Magistrates' Court imposed a restraining order for the protection of a woman known to PC Lewicki. The order prohibits PC Lewicki from making direct or indirect contact with them and from attending their home address or workplace. The order remains in force until Sunday, 11 June 2028.

The hearing determined that PC Lewicki had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.

Chief Superintendent Dan Knowles, in charge of policing for south west London, said: "A basic expectation of police officers is that they uphold the law and maintain the highest standards of behaviour, both on and off duty.

"The public rightly expect officers to act with integrity and off-duty conduct that requires a court-imposed order seriously undermines trust in policing.

“PC Lewicki's actions amounted to gross misconduct and his dismissal without notice was the appropriate outcome."

PC Lewicki will now be placed on the College of Policing Barred List, preventing him from rejoining the police service or undertaking certain other policing-related roles in the future.
