North London man guilty of further sexual offences

A predatory sex offender from Finchley has been found guilty of four further offences following an investigation by Met detectives.

Ross Davidson, 37 (24.02.88) of Station Road, Finchley, was found guilty on Wednesday, 28 January of four further sexual offences at Wood Green Crown Court.

Davidson pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism on the first day of the trial. Following a 10-day trial, he was then found guilty of the further one count of sexual assault, one count of attempted rape and one count of rape by the jury. The offences relate to two victims.

He was previously convicted of one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of voyeurism following a trial in July 2024. That offending related to four separate victims.

A complex investigation into Davidson’s offending began in 2019, when he was arrested at his home. Following the arrest, his digital devices were seized. When examining the devices, officers uncovered multiple videos of Davidson raping and sexually assaulting victims.

Detective Constable Kamila Kedadrova, who was part of investigation team, said:

“Davidson is a prolific offender who carried out cowardly and opportunistic assaults against his victims.

“Our dedicated team of officers have worked with determination and care to secure the evidence which has proved essential in achieving today’s result.

“I also commend the victims for their courage and support for the investigation.

“The Met is committed to securing justice for victims of sexual offences, no matter when they occurred. Over the past five years, we have more than tripled arrests and charges for rape and serious sexual offences.

“All reports we receive will be taken seriously, while being treated with the upmost respect and care.”

On 24 July 2022, Davidson was charged with 17 sexual offences, for which he had been remanded in custody. Following media coverage of these charges, a further victim came forward to report a rape.

The victim reported that she had woken up to find herself being raped by Davidson, while staying with him at an address in London in March 2015. He was charged for this offence on 24 April 2023.

Officers also reviewed the videos found on his devices. One of the videos recovered showed a sexual assault, which was filmed without the victim’s consent.

Met detectives were able to identify and trace the woman, and after specially trained officers contacted the victim, she reported further offences.

It was found that Davidson, who was in Thailand at the time of the offending in 2019, had attempted to rape the second victim. The victim had been woken by his actions and questioned him, which had prompted him to stop.

On 6 July 2024, he was further charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and voyeurism.

Davidson will be sentenced at a later date. The sentencing will address these convictions alongside his previous guilty convictions.

The Met is prioritising the safety of women and girls and is relentlessly targeting offenders to secure justice for victims of violence. As part of our victim-first approach, the Met has rolled out new bespoke training on VAWG to 23,000 officers and staff. This training is strengthening officer skills to investigate these crimes, support those reporting, and deliver better outcomes for victims and survivors.
