Officer dismissed for inappropriate conduct

A Met officer has been dismissed for acting inappropriately towards another officer.

Trainee Detective Constable Max Gilliver, attached to Central East Command Unit, was dismissed following a misconduct hearing, which concluded on Thursday, 5 June.

In October 2022 TDC Gilliver inappropriately touched a fellow student officer without her consent while off-duty.

BCU Commander Brittany Clarke, who leads Central East Command Unit, said: “TDC Gilliver displayed behaviour that is unacceptable and completely inappropriate.

“Instead of being respectful towards another officer, he behaved in a way that goes against the Met’s expected values and behaviours, and with no regard to the impact on his colleague.

“We are grateful to the officer who bravely came forward and reported this, enabling us to investigate this matter fully, leading to TDC Gilliver’s dismissal.”

The panel found that PC Gilliver had breached the standards of professional behaviour relating to authority, respect & courtesy and discreditable conduct. His actions amounted to gross misconduct.
