Police officer dismissed for sexual assault
A Met officer has been dismissed for sexually assaulting another off-duty officer.
A disciplinary hearing, which concluded on Thursday, 18 December, found that Detective Constable Eugene Emmanuel, from Specialist Crime South, inappropriately touched another officer in a urinal at a pub on Thursday, 7 December, 2023.
Detective Chief Superintendent Neil Cochlin said: "DC Emmanuel's behaviour off-duty fell well short of that expected of a serving officer.
"There is no place for sexual misconduct in policing, or in any workplace and it is something we will not tolerate.”
DC Emmanuel was found to have breached the police standards of professional behaviour relating to discreditable conduct. It amounted to gross misconduct, and was so serious as to justify immediate dismissal.
In addition, he will be placed on the barred list held by the College of Policing. Those appearing on the list cannot be employed by police, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
