Police release image of man they wish to speak to after Bexley bar assault

Police are appealing to the public for helping tracing a man they wish to speak to following a serious assault at a bar in Bexley.

Around 00:05hrs on Sunday, 1 February, a man smashed a glass in the face of another man at the Tanyard Bar and Kitchen in Bexley High Street. The suspect then left the scene.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service, and the victim – aged in his 30s – was taken to hospital, where he had to undergo reconstructive surgery.

Police are looking to speak to 29-year-old Swanley resident Billy Clarke in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rodgers, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a very serious assault, in which the victim suffered appalling injuries.

“We believe Billy Clarke may have information that could assist our investigation, and are appealing for anyone who knows of his whereabouts to come forward.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting reference 61/01FEB
