Three more charged in connection with incidents in Cambridge and Chesham
Three more men have been charged in connection with an investigation into various incidents targeted at an address in Cambridge and an address in Chesham in late December 2025 and January 2026.
Following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service, the three men were all charged on Wednesday, 4 February as follows:
[H] Asaf Afsar (31.01.1986) of Leahall Road, Stechford, Birmingham was charged with conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Chesham on 24 December, 2025; and conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Cambridge on 24 December, 2025
[I] Liam McGarry (18.04.2000) of Kington Lane, Claverdon, Warwick was charged with conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm– in relation to an incident in Cambridge on 24 December, 2025
[L] Mark Regan (25.02.1972) of Burnaston Road, Birmingham was charged with conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Chesham on 24 December, 2025; and conspiracy to assault and occasion bodily harm – in relation to an incident in Cambridge on 24 December, 2025
All three remain in police custody and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 5 February.
The three men were all arrested on Tuesday, 3 February in connection with the ongoing investigation, which is being led by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing London.
Two other men – [J] a 55-year-old man in the Birmingham area and [K] a 30-year-old man in the London area – were also arrested on the same date on suspicion of conspiracy to commit assault and criminal damage respectively. Both men have since been released on bail to a date in May pending further enquiries.
The arrests in the Warwickshire and West Midlands Police force areas of [H, I, J and L] were also carried out with support from officers in those force areas, as well as colleagues from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands.
Officers carried out five searches at addresses in the West Midlands (three), Warwickshire (one) and London (one) areas.
Four men [B, C, E and G] were previously charged in connection with this investigation and all four are next due to appear at the Old Bailey on 13 February.
