Two people charged with murder following death of child in Woolwich
Two people have been charged with murder as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a three-year-old boy in Woolwich.
Police were called to hospital on Saturday, 3 January following concerns around a three-year-old boy who had been admitted with serious injuries.
Following initial enquiries, a safeguarding and criminal investigation was launched by officers.
Despite best efforts of medical staff, the child sadly died on Monday, 19 January. He can now be named as Isiayah Henry from Woolwich.
Enquiries have been ongoing within the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. On Friday, 20 February, two people were charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child in connection with Isiayah’s death following an appearance at Woolwich Crown Court.
Tanisha Henry, 28 (19.04.97) of St Marys Street, Woolwich and Mikael Williams, 30 (27.02.95) of Beaconsfield Rd, SE17 will next appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, 22 April.
Isiayah’s family have been informed and continue to receive support from specialist officers.
