UPDATE: Woman charged with murder in Westminster

A woman has been charged following the death of a baby in Westminster.

At around 07:30hrs on Saturday, 14 March, officers attended Horseferry Road following reports that a baby had fallen from a height from a residential property.

The baby - aged 18 days old - was taken to hospital, where she sadly died.

Zahira Byjaouane, 43 (26.05.82), of Horseferry Road, Westminster, was charged with murder on Sunday, 15 March. She has been remanded in custody, ahead of an appearance at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, 16 March.

The woman who has been charged was the mother of the baby.

Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command continue to lead the investigation.
