Victim named in East Acton murder
On Friday, 2 October at 19:47hrs police were called after multiple shots had been heard by members of the public at the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a 40-year-old man. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
He has since been named as 40-year-old Levi Davidson, from West London. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination has established that Levi died after having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
No arrests have been made, but detectives continue to work at pace to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Since Levi’s death, specialist detectives have pursued several lines of enquiry, including extensive CCTV trawls, witness enquiries and detailed forensic examinations of the scene. These enquiries remain ongoing as officers work to build a clear picture of the events leading up to the shooting and identify those responsible.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Levi’s family and friends, after he was killed in such an act of senseless violence. We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated.
“We believe there were more than 50 people in the area at the time and we are making a direct plea for anyone who was there to contact us. We know there are people who witnessed important moments before, during or after the shooting who have not yet come forward.
“If you were near Erconwald Street, Braybrook Street and Wormwood Scrubs playground between 18:00hrs and 20:00hrs, please think carefully about what you saw. Did you see anyone carrying or concealing weapons, people on bicycles acting suspiciously, or vehicles being driven at speed?
“We also want to hear from anyone with photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage. However insignificant it may seem, the smallest piece of information could prove crucial in helping us establish what happened and identify those responsible.”
Anyone who may have information which can assist is urged to contact police via 101, quoting CAD 7011/2Oct. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
