Victim named in Enfield fatal shooting as detectives renew appeal
Detectives have named the victim of a fatal shooting in Enfield, as they continue to appeal for information.
Erdem Mustafa, aged 35, was fatally shot at a pub on Hertford Road in Enfield on Monday, 19 October.
Officers were called to reports at around 21:30hrs and attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Erdem was treated for gunshot wounds by the emergency services but was sadly later pronounced dead at the scene.
His next-of-kin continue to be supported by specialist officers.
It comes as detectives renew their appeal for information to assist the investigation, with CCTV released of a person they are keen to speak to.
No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances surrounding Erdem’s death.
Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Erdem’s loved ones following what is undoubtedly a tragic and senseless act that led to his death.
“We recognise local concerns following this incident and while detectives are keeping an open mind, we believe this to be a targeted attack.
“We are still urging those who have not yet come forward to do so if they have any information to share, or any CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage.
“No detail is too small, and we urge anyone who can help to contact us.”
Chief Superintendent Anna Mccartney, who leads policing in the area, said: “We continue to recognise the concern local people have after this incident and can reassure them that detectives are working at pace to find those responsible for Erdem’s death.
“Extra officers remain in the area to offer further reassurance.
“Serious violence has no place in our community. The Met is committed to tackling gun crime, and we are determined to hold those who seek to do serious harm to account."
