Woman charged with murder of man in Elephant and Castle

A woman has been charged with murder after a 52-year-old man was found dead at an address in Elephant and Castle.

Joanna Cierpka, 51 (17.01.75) of Newington Causeway, Southwark was charged with murder on Monday, 16 March. She remains in police custody and will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 March.

Police were called at 14:28hrs on Sunday, 15 March after concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupants of a residential property in Newington Causeway, SE1.

Officers attended the address and sadly found the body of a 52-year-old man. He has since been named as Henrik Slotsaa.

The man’s next-of-kin has been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A woman in her 50s was arrested at the scene and later charged. At this stage, officers believe that the two were known to each other.
