Cyclist dies following collision in North Kensington

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a cyclist in North Kensington.

Around 01:20hrs on Friday, 25 September officers were called to a report of a man found seriously injured in North Pole Road.

The London Ambulance Service also attended but, sadly, the 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

Enquiries are in their early stages and officers are working hard to establish what took place. From CCTV enquiries, it is believed a moped was in collision with the man, who was travelling on an e-bike, around 01:14hrs.

The moped driver did not stop, and a cordon remains in place while enquiries are carried out at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Wilkins, investigating from Hammersmith and Fulham CID, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at what is a very difficult time.

“We have launched a full investigation and are working hard to get answers and trace the moped driver.

“As part of this, we’re urging anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the e-bike or the moped to get in touch with us as soon as possible. If you have any information that could help, please come forward.”
